Account Manager | Sales Position – Dayton, OH

We are looking for an Account Manager – Sales Position | Dayton, OH location.  This person must be a self-starter, have a positive attitude and be a team player.


  • Identify potential opportunities with existing and new customers.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customer relationships.
  • Collect project data and compare it to MIT’s capabilities and customer objectives.
  • Convert leads into opportunities by assigning the appropriate sales process, identifying the required project team members, making assignments, and communicating the next steps in the process.
  • Develop relationships with multiple buying influences in the customer’s organization, including project managers, project engineers, construction, purchasing, safety, and accounts payable.
  • Determine project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet the customer’s material handling system design and installation requirements.
  • Develop, evaluate, and discuss possible solutions with customers.
  • Develop a preliminary project fulfillment schedule.
  • Oversee project take-off, selection, pricing, and integration of equipment, process, and services.
  • Prepare and review proposals.
  • Validate the preliminary proposal with the customer.
  • Determine proposal price and selling strategy.
  • Present the proposal and negotiate the price, terms, and conditions with the customer.
  • Follow up with buying influences.
  • Prepare transition documents and communicate project readiness for assignment to the operations team.
  • Resolve significant deviations from the scope with the team after Project Scope Validation.
  • Determine needs and develop and execute an account-specific business plan to identify the long-term mutual support requirements required to facilitate a strong, profitable, and successful partnership.
  • Provide comprehensive account business activity reports and annual forecasts.

Required Experience/Qualifications

  • Proven track record of sales success and can develop/build new relationships within the assigned territory.
  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong degree of self-motivation, ethics, and the ability to work independently are required but can also be a team player and an initiative taker.
  • Computer skills required, proficient in Microsoft Office products.


  • Best in-class benefit package – $3.00 – $4.00 per hour better than our competition
  • Healthcare/Dental Plan – $ 97 weekly for family, $ 33.05 weekly for Individual with out-of-pocket maximum of $ 4,800 (Family) and $2,400 (Individual). Co-pays and out-of-pocket maximum locked in through May 2025.
