Propane Forklift Fuel Tax Credit

Miami Industrial Trucks, Inc. is pleased to announce that propane lift truck customers are eligible for a 50-cent-per-gallon tax credit as part of the federal Highway Bill of 2005. Effective October 1, 2006, through September 30, 2009, this credit has the potential to provide thousands of dollars of savings annually!

How Much Can I Save?
(Lift Trucks Owned) X
(Daily Fuel Consumption)* X
(.50 cents) X
(Days Operated per Year) = ANNUAL SAVINGS

*Daily Fuel Consumption = number of gallons consumed by one lift truck daily

How Do I Claim the Credit?
Note that the lift truck must be associated with a business or trade.

  • Register with the IRS and be classified as an “Alternative Fueler.”
  • This is accomplished by completing and mailing IRS Form 637 entitled Application for Registration for Certain Excise Tax Activities.
  • If you already have a Certificate of Registry or a Letter of Registration, you are grandfathered in. However, everyone must be registered by July 1, 2007.
  • File IRS Form 4136 (available at www.irs.gov) at the end of the taxable year. This form allows you to claim a credit against your income tax liability.
  • The credit is refundable even if you have no further tax liability.
  • For more detailed information, please visit www.irs.gov or consult your tax advisor.

Why not take advantage of this government program…register now!

Are Your Forklift Operators OSHA-OK?

OSHA standards state that only “trained and authorized persons” may operate forklift trucks. All training should be job, site, truck and application specific. All operators should be evaluated at least once every three years.

Forklift, aerial work platform and skid steer loader training is available at Miami Industrial Truck’s training center or at your location.

We have trained over 30,000 operators in our trading area. Call our Training Center or visit our Web site at www.mitlift.com to enroll in our next scheduled class. Other safety services we offer include: ergonomic evaluations, emission testing, and fork and upright chain inspections.

Outsourcing Is Better than Ownership

Leasing costs less than ownership, and we can prove it! Don’t tie up your capital in forklifts. Outsource your forklift needs and focus on your core business. Today, large and small leading-edge companies are turning to forklift full-service leasing for many reasons.

Why lease?

  • Conserves cash
  • Provides tax advantages
  • Increases uptime and equipment utilization
  • Establishes professional fleet management
  • Improves employee productivity and morale
  • Simplifies budgeting
  • Usually reduces fleet size

To get a good look at leasing and its advantages, ask us to perform a free fleet audit. We’ll determine the proper equipment you should be using and set the lease term so that you will achieve maximum utilization. Call us today at 1-800-444-4808.
